Authentic or Faux — My Forsythia Struts Its Stuff

Igot so excited when I rounded the house this weekend to find my forsythia bush blooming! I immediately cut several stems to take the place of the faux flowers I wrote about only days before on my post “Five Tips for Displaying Faux Flowers.”

This cheery card is a perfect way to brighten someone's day. . . complete with a little shaker surprise!

    Pinecones and Pompons Make Easy Kid Craft

    Here’s one of the cutest little Christmas crafts my son and his cousin, Norah, put together last year; and if I remember correctly, I believe even the big kids got in on the action. I mean, who can resist those tiny little pompons? To make this super easy Christmas kid craft all you need are some medium-sized pinecones, small colorful pompons and some basic craft or school glue. We also used some small red Christmas bells because I picked them up for cheap at the craft store.     Mother and Son Autumn Swag

    My son and I enjoyed yesterday’s wonderful fall afternoon walking in the woods, gathering leaves and creating a beautiful autumn swag with our bounty. This was just a little project I dreamed up that I knew my little guy would enjoy and it was a good excuse to tromp through the woods together on a beautiful day. If you have a hole punch and a little patience, this is a perfect family craft project.     One of my nieces just moved into her new college apartment near the KU campus and she sent me a text out of the blue asking if I could make her a cute little something for her bedroom door.
