Saturday Sparks – Creative Crates

Saturday Sparks – Creative Crates

I know pallet this and pallet that is all the rage right now, but I also think people are doing some really great things with simple little old crates these days — and for most of these projects you don’t even have to disassemble them. Many of these ideas are very simple to put together but add big impact to the space in which they are used.

You can group them, hang them, stack them and paint them, but there really is no limit to what can be done. I love the stairs and dresser made of crate wood and even have a soft spot for the eclectic entry table made of milk crates.

Happy Saturday and enjoy!

Saturday Sparks – French Country Kitchens

Saturday Sparks – French Country Kitchens

Saturday’s are just those days that I find hard to pull myself away from family, garden and house duties long enough to get my witty on and write a post that most of you might be interested in reading. So I’ve decided to pull together some of my favorite ideas and inspirations, compile them into a themed post and present them to you in hopes it might spark a bit of creativity in the home and garden projects of your own.

Today is French country kitchens day. I love French country and I love kitchen design, so these are some of my favorites.  I do believe just about anyone can transform their kitchen into a French country themed retreat, but you have to be willing to go all the way. An Eiffel Tower and toile tea towel does not French country make, but if you pull out the stops you can have a great finished product.

Some of these inspiration photos feel formal while others are very much more country, but that’s the beauty of French country decorating — just because “country” is in the name doesn’t mean it is only meant for Cape Cods and cottages.

If you have a French country kitchen in your home, please send me a picture. I would love to see it.
