Sunflower and Sequins Shaker Card

Sunflower and Sequins Shaker Card

So I couldn’t stop with just two cards for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, because the sketch was such a great jumping off spot for all kinds of fun ideas. For this interpretation, I flipped the card on its side and turned it into a sunflower shaker.

The First of Many Corona Craziness Cards

With all the Corona craziness going on right now, it’s nice to know that my years of stockpiling craft supplies might actually payoff during the next few weeks. I’m serious folks, I could crop and create for years and probably still have enough. But let’s take this extra stay-at-home stuff one step at a time and take a look at how I spent some of my Sunday evening.

Heart-Shaped Cut Out Card — A Plan Comes Together

Heart-Shaped Cut Out Card — A Plan Comes Together

I’m back this week with another card creation, and this time I combined an original cut file with a Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I love it when a plan comes together.

As soon as I saw this week’s challenge sketch, I knew I wanted to create a heart-shaped cut out card and that’s when I got the idea to create a whole card base in Illustrator, convert it to a svg cut file and let my Cricut machine do the rest.

The base was made with pink card stock and the cut file below, and the other patterned papers are from the Pebbles “yours truly” collection. I hand cut a burlap heart and layered it with a premade heart embellishment and coordinating tag. With a little pink ink around the edges and a few pieces of mini bling, this card was finished. I didn’t add a sentiment because I didn’t want to limit the card to a certain holiday, but I can always stamp in a greeting at a later date.
