Tear-Free Gingerbread Building

Even with a kit in hand, many of you can attest that building a gingerbread house can be a frustrating and tear evoking task, especially when the kids are eagerly waiting to adorn it with editable windows and sugar-covered roofs. Through the years (and trial and error) I came up with a tear-free solution to building our beautiful brown baked houses, and it all comes down to planning.

Advent “Wreath” in a Box

One of my favorite observances this time of year is the Advent wreath and the weekly candle lighting that leads up to Christmas. This year I decided to incorporate this idea into our home and created an Advent “wreath” in a box.

New Card Challenge Creation, Times Three

By the way, if you are looking for some really affordable scrapbooking supplies you should visit your local T.M. store if you are…

Extra Oomph for the Color Throwdown

I planned to clean my house today, but my craft room beckoned to me and I finally gave into my creative compulsion. The basic combination of kraft, green and white led me to a super basic card, but I jazzed it up with a few extra touches. I created the flower out of a brown paper bag and added the button stitched in green to create a simple focal piece. I also added some bulky stitching with cross-stitch floss and inked every little edge. The combination of two simple polka dot papers was a fun little…

Spreading a Little Warm Weather Cheer

Our beautiful warm weather inspired me today, along with the simple little Freshly Made Sketch, of course, so I just knew I had to incorporate a fun little flower somewhere on my card. While the colors are a bit fallish, I think the bright flower gives this card enough whimsy to wish someone special a happy spring or summer day. I used The Green Stack from DCWV to create this card; and to tell you the truth, I was very glad to be able to use a few pages out of this paper pad because I’ve owned it for a very long time and really haven’t used it much (for whatever reason).…
