Sketch Challenge Salute to a Special Teacher

Sketch Challenge Salute to a Special Teacher

Another school year is finally winding down and that means we have to cram in all sorts of spirit weeks, field days, special celebrations and, of course, teacher appreciate day. I have a suspicion that a lot of these events are probably just fluff to get the students and especially the teachers through the final weeks of school, but I can definitely get on board with teacher appreciation day (or week, if you are in our district) because the thought of having 25 of my sons in one small square-shaped room for any length of time is just plain exhausting. . . and I think he is actually a good student.

Another Sketch Challenge Christmas Card

Another Sketch Challenge Christmas Card

Christmas card

Christmas cardAfter last week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I decided to create an entire collection of Christmas cards using the rest of my “Tis the Season” kit by Echo Park. So when the new sketch came out this week at Freshly Made Sketches, of course I had to play along.

All the papers used on this creation are from the EP “Tis the Season” collection, including the premade graphic card. I interpreted one of the boxes from the sketch into a banner shape and slightly popped up the front card. I inked all my edges with an antique gray color and added one little accent of snowflake ribbon to polish off the whole look.

Sometime in the next several days I hope to share the entire Christmas card collection I’m working on, so I hope you will return for a look see.

Snow Day Sketch Challenge

Snow Day Sketch Challenge

sketch challengeAt the last-minute (and probably because my craft room is considerably cleaner than it was this morning) I decided to play along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but I also promised to take my son to the movies on this cold snow day, so I’m going to keep this brief.

I used Echo Park’s Tis the Season collection kit to create this simple but cute card and added the wooden star and some twine to finish off the look. Of course I inked my edges as usual, and popped up the sentiment for a bit of interest. I think it’s basic but cute, and I can’t wait to send it along to someone special.

UPDATE: This card was chosen as a “Princess of Clean” at Freshly Made Sketches.
