Well Halloween is finally here, so I thought it was about time I shared a glimpse of this year’s fall porch decor. It has been such an odd fall with its share of up and down temps (and an early snow fall), which has kept me jumping to save my plants from freezing. We carved up our jack o’ lantern last night and added it to the mix, so I hope we have at least a few trick or treaters visit our cozy home.

My Babies Aren’t Chicks Anymore
Our "babies" finally spent the night outside with the big girls this week, and everyone is still clucking, so I guess we will count it a success. We had been slowly acclimating the four youngsters to the older hens by letting them spend most of their days outdoors, but we were also gathering them up at night to nestle safely into their basement abode.

Baby Chicks on a Rainy Day
I don't know what brightens a rainy day better than the peep peep of day-old baby chicks! My husband came home yesterday carrying a small box with the cutest little fluff balls of cheeriness inside.
