    Congrats Card for New Parents

    It seems like I’m often in need of baby cards these days and I just don’t have much of a stash for this all-important event, so when Cards in Envy posted their cheers challenge for the week I decided to create a congrats card just for some lucky parent to be. I decided to make the card gender neutral by using some tangerine pink, blues and yellows, because I don’t have a looking glass for this sort of thing (if I did, I’m sure I would be rich).     Saying So Long to Summer

    I wrapped up my week fittingly with this so long to summer card that I created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch I immediately thought pocket, but when I couldn’t locate denim paper in my stash I switched to a bandana feel. The stitching around the edge gives it a bit more finished look and some added texture. The papers came from different collections, but I was able to combine everything for a fun summer look, and of course I inked all my edges.     Extra Oomph for the Color Throwdown

    I planned to clean my house today, but my craft room beckoned to me and I finally gave into my creative compulsion. So instead of cleaning toilets and doing laundry, I decided to create a cute little card for the latest Color Throwdown Challenge. The basic combination of kraft, green and white led me to a super basic card, but I jazzed it up with a few extra touches. I created the flower out of a brown paper bag and added the button stitched in green to create a simple focal piece.
