    Celebrating (Another) Snow Day at the KC Zoo

    Another wave of winter weather blew through town last night, which translated into another snow day for my second grader. I have completely lost track of how many inclement weather days we have accumulated this year, but I’m pretty sure these kids might be in school until Independence Day. My little man is pretty good at entertaining himself during days like this, but as they start piling up we both get a little antsy.     Animal Photos and Spring at the Zoo

    With a preschooler in the house, we’re finally getting a taste of spring break. Monday morning our son asked his dad if it was a school day. My husband told him it would normally be a school day, but it was spring break. To this our little one let out a resounding cheer, followed by a pause and a, “What is spring break?” I found this rather funny, because even though he didn’t have a clue what the term meant, he knew it was something special.     Living a Large Fall

    We have been enjoying such a gorgeous fall that I’ve hardly made the time to blog at all. Amid the apple orchards, pumpkin patches and trips to the zoo, we have been soaking in the warm breezy days and living large before winter swoops us up in another cold embrace. I’ve been baking, making and sewing up a storm while not outside with my son, leaving little extra time to type my thoughts to the world or share what’s been happening at the other end of my camera.
