Tear-Free Gingerbread Building

Even with a kit in hand, many of you can attest that building a gingerbread house can be a frustrating and tear evoking task, especially when the kids are eagerly waiting to adorn it with editable windows and sugar-covered roofs. Through the years (and trial and error) I came up with a tear-free solution to building our beautiful brown baked houses, and it all comes down to planning.

Advent “Wreath” in a Box

One of my favorite observances this time of year is the Advent wreath and the weekly candle lighting that leads up to Christmas. This year I decided to incorporate this idea into our home and created an Advent “wreath” in a box.

Pinecones and Pompons Kid Craft

To make this super easy Christmas kid craft all you need are some medium-sized pinecones, small colorful pompons and some basic craft or school glue.

One (Very Cute) Photo Trashed My Craft Room

Okay, I had so much fun with the Scrap Our Stash layout challenge that I decided to jump right into their Tic Tac Toe challenge for this wonderful month of May. I used the row across the middle which consisted of the color yellow, clouds and a paper clip. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. . . or not so much. I’m still cropping the year 2011,…

The “Mother” of All Scrapbook Challenges

It’s no secret that I love creating cards and I often take part in various creative challenges to boost my stash of salutations, but last week I stumbled upon a couple of sites that offer monthly scrapbook challenges that look like a whole lot of fun. And let’s face it, I really need to crop more if I ever hope to make a dent in all my memories stored out there on Shutterfly. So this weekend I decided to take a stab at the Scrap Our Stash May Sketch Challenge, because not only is it a sketch challenge but also a creative brain teaser. They provide visual inspiration but I had…

A Crafty Week with My Sister

My sister drove up from Oklahoma this week (dodging snow storms along the way) to spend a few fun days with me, and we have certainly shopped and cropped our way through the week. Okay, so maybe there was a little more shopping being done, but a girl’s gotta stock up on that good crafty stuff, you know.  Sometimes I need a visit from my crafty sibling to get my scrapbook bottom on track, so it’s always nice to get a visit from my sis from time-to-time. Other than spending hours in craft stores and scrapbook shops, here is what we’ve been up to (and what kind of mess I’ve made). My…
