Authentic or Faux — My Forsythia Struts Its Stuff

Igot so excited when I rounded the house this weekend to find my forsythia bush blooming! I immediately cut several stems to take the place of the faux flowers I wrote about only days before on my post “Five Tips for Displaying Faux Flowers.”

This cheery card is a perfect way to brighten someone's day. . . complete with a little shaker surprise!

Country Cuteness from Mom’s Garage

I took an old canning jar, a partial can of off-white spray paint, twine and twigs and quickly whipped up a cute little country-style home decor.

Ice and Snow Brought Out the Birds

Our weekend was bracketed with snow and ice, which kept the family immobile for much of what turned out to be a four-day mini indoor stay-cation. Although I was pretty much climbing the walls with my nine-year-old son by yesterday, there were a few bright spots to our confinement. A Photographic Kind of Mother’s Day

I hope all you mamas out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I celebrated all weekend and across two states, spending time with my own Mom and family in Oklahoma and celebrating the day with my son and husband back in Missouri. It was a lot of driving, but I truly had a couple of great days. The Mother/Daughter Banquet at Verdigris FBC was a lot of fun. The decorations were adorable, the food was good and the giveaways were awesome! I came home with the new “Magnolia Table” cookbook. Sunday started out with a Weight Watchers conscious breakfast casserole, prepared the night before by my husband. I’ll share that…
