A Little Outdoor Grunge for the Guys

Operation Write Home is sporting a cute little sketch this week and I decided to go manly for my challenge card. I used papers from The Paper Loft’s Huckleberry Pond collection, because nothing says “I’m a guy” better than a little outdoor grunge. I stayed pretty true to the sketch but added a little “miss you” tag to the front along with my stitching and raffia. I also roughed up all the edges, added some ink stain and crumpled my horizontal strip within an inch of life to add a nice comfortable worn look. I hope you like!

All About Easter Greetings

This week’s Operation Write Home challenge is all about Easter, and for some reason I had a bit of difficulty with this one. I don’t think I’ve actually ever created an Easter card in my life. . . How is that possible? But I’m happy to say that with a couple of attempts I’m now over that hurdle thanks to K & Company’s Susan Winget Designer Mat Pad. This whole paper collection looks like Spring, so by adding a ”Happy Easter” stamped banner, some punched flowers and liquid pearls I came up with a quick and easy greeting. I hope you like (even if it’s only mid-winter).

A Look Back at My Card Making Mojo

What better way to end and begin a year than by taking a look back at where much of my creative mojo was spent during the last several months. As a card creator for Operation Write Home, I always feel like I’m doing some bit of good for our troops all over the world; and while not all my cards make it to public viewing, I always try to send my best to our American heroes.
